Hairin is a Psychology major at the University of Utah. Hairin chose to study at the U because of the research opportunities and social activities available to undergraduate students.
Hairin participates in Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP), Alternative Spring Break, and volunteers her time at the Art for Youth Program where she helps local elementary school students with art projects. She is currently focusing her time on research projects both for the University of Utah and Westminster College.
After graduating, Hairin will apply to graduate school and she hopes to become a psychology researcher. She believes that she can help more people in a more efficient way by increasing her experiences and capabilities as a psychologist.
Hairin believes it is important to receive a higher education because it is a chance for students to gain broader contexts of our world and a chance to set future goals. Additionally, she believes that volunteering and giving back to your community is not an option—it is a duty. Hairin feels grateful that she has had the chance to build her career and expand her experiences. By giving back to her community she feels like it is her way of thanking those who have helped her along her academic journey.
In her spare time, Hairin enjoys traveling and loves to visit other cities. She also enjoys reading novels not related to school and shopping with her friends.
