International Ambassador Program
2026-2027
About the Program
International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) International Ambassador Program matches students, familiar with campus and Salt Lake City, to incoming international students. Ambassadors help new international students adjust to life at the U and U.S. by assisting students during their transition to the University of Utah and Salt Lake Valley.
Ambassador Mission
The Ambassador Program works to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for new international students through peer support, guidance, resources and advice during new students’ arrival and first year at the University of Utah. Ambassadors are community builders who look to create memories, plan events, and make the international student experience the best it can be. Ambassadors are experienced students from a variety of backgrounds. They serve as role models to new international students through individual interactions during Orientation, International Night, and many other events and opportunities.

Introduction:
Hello! I'm from Myanmar (Burma) and a senior pursuing my second bachelor’s degree in economics. I came to the United States on my own, without family or relatives, so I understand what it feels like to start over in a new country with no support system beyond the university community. I know how overwhelming it can be to figure out where to start, who to reach out to, and how to ask for help. That’s why I’m here—to support and encourage others. Please don’t hesitate to connect with me. I’d be happy to help in any way I can.
