A Requirement for Newly Admitted International Students Joining Our Campus Community

 

 

 

We're excited to have you join our global community. Our international student orientation is designed to support you every step of the way as you transition to life in Salt Lake City, Utah. 

Most international Exchange Visitors on the J-1 Visa (e.g., research scholars and visiting faculty) are not required to attend International Student Orientation but do have the option to attend the Exchange Visitor Orientation

Overview

Our comprehensive orientation program covers essential topics such as visa regulations, academic expectations, cultural adjustment, and campus resources. Participation ensures students are well-prepared and connected from day one.

Please note: There is no online orientation session. Attendance is in person. 

Utah Global: If you are a new student in the Utah Global Program, please contact Student Services at Utah Global for your specific orientation details. 

What to Expect

Throughout the orientation, students will meet fellow international students, and receive guidance from experienced staff. Topics include maintaining visa status, navigating health care in the U.S., understanding available resources on campus, and much more.
