With nearly 1500 acres (6.1 square kilometers) of campus, walking can sometimes seem daunting, even to an enthusiastic walker. Many students choose biking instead. For further information check the Ubike rental program — the University's rental biking program.

Getting Around Salt Lake City
The U of U campus is in a residential area of the city, but many stores and business are within biking distance or on TRAX or bus lines. "Downtown" Salt Lake City, which is the business and cultural center of Salt Lake City, is easy to get to on TRAX, as is The Gateway, a main shopping and entertainment area.
With our excellent TRAX and bus lines, it is easy to get to most places in Salt Lake City and surrounding areas.
Please check the Department of Public Safety website for information about getting a drivers license.
